I created this print to celebrate the unique and timeless bond between dogs and humans.

A windswept scruffy dog sits atop a globe, as it whirls through space - a constant and reassuring companion as we forge ahead on life’s ever-changing journey.

Printed in a soft celadon blue/green and dark blue on creamy Hosho Select Japanese paper, the total number of prints in the edition is 229.

Each print is numbered, titled and signed.

Linoprint carved plate dog globe | The Enlightened Hound

How this print was made

The print is a 2 colour linoprint made from 2 seperate plates - one for the background design and colour and another plate for the illustration of the dog and globe. The design is carved into the lino using sharp gouges which leaves a raised design that will take the ink for printing.

The background plate was printed first by hand on my traditional etching press using oil based ink. Once the ink is dry, the second layer (illustration plate) can be printed in the same way.

The print is a limited-edition of 229.
